Where is Newport, Kentucky you may ask? A good question…we asked the same. Apparently, it’s a suburb, of-sorts, of Cincinnati, just across the Ohio.

Kind of a shitty venue tonight. It tried to make itself look like a seated performance space, but the smell gave it away as a shitty rock club and the handful of loud drunks in the back of the club (no doubt friends of the owner/bartender/promoter) truly gave it away. We had a strange show. Kind of loose and goofy at times (a very bizarre version of Blue Moon). It’s hard to say how it translated in the audience, but they seemed to have a good time.

Two momentous occasions happened today. I bought Richard Ford’s new book, probably the only author that I will spend the money on a hardcover version (I’m cheap that way); and the St Louis Cardinal’s won the World Series. It was an extremely boring Series and very poorly played by the Tigers.
