Eugene, Oregon (May 19, 2006)

Back to Tour Diary main page

A grey drizzly day in the Northwest. I suppose that’s how it’s suppose to be in May, in this part of the country, but apparently it’s been sunny and 90 degrees all week. There’s nothing like an outdoor concert to bring on the bad weather.

It was still a very nice day. The rains never turned torrential and the setting, a small owner-run vineyard on the outskirts of Eugene, was beautiful. We were treated exceptionally well by the owner, Patty, and all her staff.

There wasn’t a huge turnout tonight, but those who came were very keen. We had a great night and the audience made it happen.

I’m sure that I’ve said it many times in this diary, but Oregon has a very strong pull for me. There’s something about this part of the country that feels right.
