A brief little jaunt to the West coast starting in a casino in a suburb of Vancouver. Technically a suburb, but it’s unlikely that any municipal council would want to claim this little piece of urban paradise. Wedged between a couple of bridges, on the banks of a rotting industrial canal sits the Red Rock Resort. It’s a very comfortable hotel filled with a very helpful and friendly staff, but if you’re planning a West coast vacation this is not the place to book: unless you like eating your lunch directly under the flight path of an international airport. There is nothing like the roar of a 767 passing a couple of hundred feet overhead to bolster the appetite. The venue itself was quite nice. A typical casino gig. A very well appointed venue: nicely laid out, great production and very comfortable dressing rooms. We weren’t quite up to the challenge. We left Toronto this morning at 9am and the cross-country flight and the three hour time loss kind of did us in. We tried, but I don’t think I’d list this as one of our best shows. |
