We had a fantastic day today. We arrived in Easton in the late morning and were greeted by perfect Spring weather. A perfect town to do some aimless wandering. Easton is one of those picture perfect little places situated on the Eastern Shore. It looks like it’s done up for a movie shoot: from the gun shop to the ice cream parlour, everything is just right. In any case, it is a nice spot to relax and spend a day doing nothing but smell the wisteria, stumble along the brick sidewalks and putter through antique stores.

Speaking of gun shops…Al went in to the local firearms shop and (out of curiosity) asked if he could purchase a hand gun. The owner told him he needed a safety permit and a background check before he could sell him a gun. When Al asked him how to go about getting those two things, the owner told him that he would give him the safety permit if he stepped in to the back room and watched a 15 minute video on gun safety. The background check the owner could get for him by calling the FBI office set up for such purposes. But, he said that if he had to wait longer than three minutes to get connected to a person he would just check off the box where it asked if the background check had been completed. Gun problem?...What gun problem?

This was our first visit to Easton and it certainly won’t be our last. We had an excellent show tonight. The Avalon Theater is a small, intimate place with great sound and a nice size stage. But most importantly, the audience was fantastic; loud, enthusiastic and completely engaged. We had a great time.
