What a difference a day and a handful of miles make. That’s all it takes for us to move from the crumbling poverty of downtown Peekskill to the magnificence and wealth of the Princeton University campus; same demographic in attendance, of course.
Princeton is one of the most impressive campuses that I have ever had the opportunity to wander through. The architecture and layout are quite incredible and the size, especially when one considers that there are fewer than 7000 students enrolled, is quite amazing. But I suppose 40K per year buys one a lot of space, beauty and, hopefully, an excellent opportunity for a good education.
Weather-wise it was a very dreary day, so most of it was spent on the bus watching bad movies and eating bad food: the glamour of the road distilled.
The gig tonight was at the McCarter Theater: a very beautiful and good sounding venue on the Princeton campus. We had a very good night. It was a lot looser than the Peekskill show and the new songs are slowly taking shape.
