Portland, OR (June 28, 2008)
Back to Tour Diary main page

I have raved about this city enough over the years in this Tour Diary. So I won’t do so again…it’s an amazing city: visit it if you can.

We had a day off yesterday and I was in the perfect mood to browse, so Tim and I went out and looked at some beautiful new and vintage guitars and then I headed off to Powell’s (the most amazing bookstore on the planet) and spent three hours salivating over books. I then spent a couple of hours rummaging through the racks of a couple of the better CD stores in this town. I love this place.

Tonight was the last gig of this very strange little tour. We’ve had a lot of time off and not played a ton of gigs. The good thing is that the shows have been pretty top notch. Tonight was a little different. A large crowd (close to 4000 people) at the zoo tonight: we are the first half of a double bill with The Indigo Girls. This is always a fun gig, but tonight we didn’t quite connect.

Tomorrow we fly home for ten days before we head back out to Colorado. Unfortunately we are going to miss the final game of the Euro Cup between Spain and Germany. We were able to watch Spain dismantle Russia the other day and also watch the Germans squeak by the Turks. Tomorrow’s game should be excellent. Go Spain!
