On our overnight trip down here, the inside of the bus sounded like, what I imagine, a  TB ward would have sounded like, back in the day. Margo, Alan and I all have our own special diseases that are causing us to hack away whenever we aren’t gasping for breath or blowing our noses. Not the best way to start a set of dates and a nasty proposition for those who were healthy when they got on the bus…because they ain’t getting’ off this tub without some kind of illness.

The three communities that hosted these first three shows are all a testament to the enormous economic powerhouse that is New York City. Without the wealth that radiates from the city, these towns would be little back country communities struggling to survive, but because of the cities proximity they have become some of the wealthiest communities on the East Coast. Tarrytown is beautifully set on the banks of the Hudson; Huntington is a picturesque little town at the foot of Long Island; and Amagansett, a not-so-quaint beach community, way up at the top of Long Island, is where some of the real money resides. The fact that Amagansett is two and a half hours from the city is irrelevant because, well, helicopters and private planes can make the trip in under thirty minutes.
